We began the day with a visit to Bord, a reindeer hunter in the town of Eikesdalen, Norway.
We were really entertained by his tales of a lifetime of hunting in the mountains
surrounding the valley of Eikesdalen. His stories were fascinating, especially
the accounts of his father at home watching Bord searching for reindeer.
He is well known as a reindeer expert. His family has been in the region
for a long time, adding to his tales of Norway's earliest inhabitants.
Later, we hiked nearby on a quest to reach Mardalsfossen Waterfall.

ABOVE RIGHT - We were captivated by one of the last reindeer hunters and farmers in the region.
His stories of reindeer hunting and his father were utterly fascinating.

The restaurant is closed but opened for us by appointment.
ABOVE RIGHT - On our hike to the falls – is that an ent?
ABOVE LEFT - Fred matches the rocks.
ABOVE MIDDLE - The river coming down from the falls way in the background.
ABOVE RIGHT - We just received word that a front has moved in and hiking
up the rest of the way to the falls would be a bad idea.
ABOVE LEFT - The falls are about 80 feet wide, but seem to be much thinner when flowing
against the massive cliffs over which they fall. The dark grey cliffs provide a stark contrast
to the white gushing water as it falls over the side of the mountain.
The mountain features lush fauna on either side of the fall.
ABOVE MIDDLE - Our guides having a little fern fun.
ABOVE RIGHT - End of another nice day. Sunset at the hotel.
