5/7 Fri – Off to the ferry again! We rode across the lake to Menaggio.

Below - See that church about halfway up the cliff face? That's our lunch spot!

Then we followed the pilgrimage trail up to the Church of San Martino,

which sits on top of a sheer cliff above Griante looking out at Lake Como.

After a snack at the church we headed up to the top of the face of Mt. Tremezzo. 

At the top we found grassy meadows and a map of the area

We contemplated going down the other side, but weren’t sure we had time,

so we backtracked down to Menaggio and ferried back to Varenna.

We were glad we did, as we missed the rain.

We ate at a lakeside restaurant before heading back to our room.
