Exploring Toulouse

The first six pictures are from September 17. We arrived late and just had time to head

down to the canal and enjoy a sunset. The remaining pictures are from September 18.

Toulouse boasts a population of 130,000 students making it the

second largest university centre in France.

ABOVE MIDDLE and RIGHT - Mostly students along the Garonne River at sunset.

ABOVE MIDDLE - Basilica of St. Sernin, the biggest Romanesque building in Europe

ABOVE RIGHT - Toulouse - Known to locals as La Ville Rose (the Pink City)

after the pink stone used in many of its buildings. This is the Capitol Building.

to the Mediterranean, and can be traveled by boat, bike or on foot.
