September 13, 2017 -  We're back in Ljubljana after a whirlwind tour of Slovenia.

We attended a concert, and settled into the apartment. We feel a little less

like tourists, and a little more like locals. We shopped at the local supermarket,

and just meandered around the old town and surrounds.

ABOVE RIGHT - The Robba Fountain, one of Ljubljana's best known Baroque

monuments, also known as The Fountain of Three Carniolan Rivers, stands at the

edge of the Mestni trg square. It was created between 1743 and 1751 by the Venetian-born

sculptor and architect Francesco Robba (1698-1757), who spent most of his life in Ljubljana

and is considered to be the city's greatest Baroque master sculptor working in stone.

ABOVE LEFT  - Taking pride of place at the centre of Prešernov Trg is the 1905

Prešeren monument designed by Maks Fabiani and Ivan Zajc, and erected in

honor of Slovenia’s greatest poet, France Prešeren - the poet and his muse.
