We left Mürren late, after a leisurely breakfast. Then we set out on the Northface trail.

The Northface trail faces north and has staggering views of the surrounding Mountain range.

The dusting of new snow has melted and only the permanent snow is left.

Wow! A restaurant just in time for lunch. Check out the cow bells on the front of the building.

The trail had markers along the way pointing out mountains.

The markers showed the routes for the climbs.

Markers left, our photos right.  Find the peaks!

The views out toward the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau continued to wow us all day.

We are now on the Mountain View Trail.  The name says it all.

On the trail down to Grutschalp, we encountered a very old man and his wife. Their daughter convinced them to do the Mountain View hike. Unfortunately it was a bit too strenuous and dangerous for them and they really needed help. We ended up taking about an hour longer (at least) than planned getting down to the tram station.

Judith helped the woman, and I helped the man. They were very appreciative. We should have taken pictures of the trail down. It was pretty sketchy. The man and woman are seated below.

Below, the trail map shows where we hiked today.
