In the summer of 2002 we were at the Tour De France for the final stage race.

We were very fortunate to have passes to get into a special viewing area for the Tour de France.

We were right on the Champs-Elysees and could reach out and touch the racers,

if the Gendarmes were not there of course.

The race was pretty exciting.  Watching the racers close the gap was the best part.

On the victory lap Lance stopped in front of us and a couple people jumped the barrier to talk to him.

Of course he was immediately swarmed by photographers and police.

The teams each took victory laps but it was more fun cheering them than taking pictures.

That's my excuse for only having a couple.
